The Scriptures

09:28 Posted by: Mormon Missionary 0 comments

The Scriptures Are available to us Today

What are some of blessings we enjoy today because the scriptures are so accessible?

When the servants of Lord speech or write under the influence of Holy Ghost, his words becomes scriptures (see D&C 68:4). Since the beginning the Lord ordered to His prophets who kept records of his revelations and of His interactions with His sons. He said: "For I command all men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written" (2 Nephi 29:11).

The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints accept four books as scripture: The Holy Bible, The Book Of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. These books are called of standard-works of Church. The words inspired of prophets living are accepted like scriptures also.

The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible is a collection of holy writings containing God revelations to the men. These writings cover many centuries, since the time of Adam until the time when the Apostles of Jesus Christ lived. These revalations was written by many prophets that lived in differents seasons of history of world.

The Holy Bible is divided into its sections: The Old and New Testaments. Many prophecies in the Old Testament foretell the coming of a Savior and Redeemer. The New Testament speak about the life of this Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

It also narrates the establishment of His Church in those days "We believe the Bible to be the descriptive word of God, since it is translated correctly" (Articles of Faith 1:8).

Through Joseph Smith, the Lord, expanded our understanding of some passages of the Bible that had been lost or changed after the original words were written. These corrections inspired, are called of Translating of Joseph Smith of Bible. Some selected passages of Translating of Joseph Smith of Bible can be found in the Guide to Study of Scriptures.

The Book Of Mormon

The Book Of Mormon is a holy record of some people that lived in the american continents between nearly 2000 B.C and 400 A.C. They have the fulness of gospel of Jesus Christ (see D&C 20:9; 42:12; 135:3). The Book of Mormon speech about the visit of Jesus Christ to peoples of America after His Ressurrection.

SALT LAKE CITY 13 January 2010 In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is mobilizing resources to address the most pressing needs of the people in the Caribbean nation. Images of collapsed buildings and devastated families tell the story of the widespread destruction. Nate Leishman, manager of the Church’s humanitarian emergency response efforts describes aid being sent.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sending a team of doctors and medical supplies to Haiti immediately to help care for those injured by the devastating earthquake. The doctors will set up a temporary medical center in a Church meetinghouse in Port-au-Prince. The meetinghouse is largely undamaged by the quake.

“We’re finding one of the greatest needs is medical care. Entire hospitals have been destroyed. Medical supplies are scarce. So this temporary medical center will be a tremendous asset,” said Elder Francisco J. Viñas, the area president who oversees the Church in Haiti.

The doctors are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who have volunteered their time and skills to assist people in Haiti who are in critical need of medical assistance.

Other urgent needs following the devastating earthquake continue to be water, medical care, shelter and food. The Church is responding to those needs by sending relief supplies in addition to the medical personnel. Some shipments have already arrived, others are in process, and more are being planned.

The Prophets of God

The prophets are representants of God in the Earth

What powers and gifts is a prophet?

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7).

So many peoples living in the dark, unsafe about the will of God. These persons believe that skies are eyes closed and that peoples should face alone the dangers of world. How fortunate are the Latter-day Saints! We know that God communicates with the Church through of His prophet. With heart grateful, the saints of whole world sing: "We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet" (Hymns, Nº: #19 [09 in Brazil]).

A prophet is a man called for God to be His representant in the earth. When a prophet speaking for God, is like God speaking (see D&C 1:38). A prophet is also, a special witness of Christ, that testifies of His divinity and teaching His gospel. A prophet teach the truth and interprets the descriptive word of God. Calling the wicked to repentence and receive revelations and oritations of Lord to our benefit. Can see the future and provide events that the world is alerted.

Pray to Our Heavenly Father

07:37 Posted by: Mormon Missionary 0 comments

What's the pray?

Jesus teach "because you should pray always to the father in my name" (3 Nephi 18:19).
The pray is a big blessing that we have while we be in the earth. Through her we can communicate with the Heavenly Father and look for daily His orientation.
The pray is a sincere conversation with the Heavenly Father, made so deep of heart. We should pray to God and no one more. We don't pray to nobody or any thing made for man or by God (see Exodus 20:3-5).

Why we pray?

Since the first, the pray is a important part of Gospel. A angel of Lord, arrange to Adam and Eve that regret to cry out to the father in the name of Son, (see Mosiah 5:8). This commandments never was retired. The pray help us to approximate of God. All our thinks, our words and our actions are influence for our pray.

The Holy Ghost

The Holy Ghost was sent to Adam and Eve

Why Adam and Eve needs of orientation of Holy Ghost?

After that Adam and Eve leave the Garden of Eden, started to plow the earth and do other tasks for his maintenance. They had many sons and they, for his turn, wedding and had sons (see Moses 5:1-3). So, the spiritual sons of Heavenly Father begin to quit of His presence and come to earth, how was promised for them (see Abraham 3:24-25).
When come to the earth, the memory of heavenly home is erase. Meanwhile, the Heavenly Father don't exclude of Your influence, but order the Holy Ghost to confort, help and guide all of His spiritual sons.

The Fall of Adam and Eve

16:30 Posted by: Mormon Missionary 0 comments

Adam and Eve was the firsts to come earth.

What evidence do we have that Adam and Eve were noble spirits?

God prepared this earth to be a home for His sons, Adam and Eve were chosen to be the first people to live here (see Moses 1:34, 4:26). His part in the Father's plan was to bring death to the world. They were the first parents (see D&C 107:54-56).

Adam and Eve were among the noblest sons of our Heavenly Father. In the spirit world Adam was called Michael the archangel (see D&C 27:11, Jude 1:9). He was choice of Heavenly Father for lead the correct men in the battle against Satan (see Revelation 12:7-9). Adam and Eve were foreordained to become our first parents. And the Lord administered comfort unto Adam, and said unto him: "I have set thee to be at the head; a multitude of nations shall come of thee, and thou art a prince over them forever " (D&C 107:55).

Sacred revelations and teachings from God, recorded by His holy prophets, are called scriptures. Diligent study of these revelations will help us better understand God’s plan for us and how the gospel of Jesus Christ can lead us back to our Heavenly Father.

The Creation

The Plan of Lord to Us

Why we need come to earth?

When we lived as spirit son with our Heavenly Fathers, the Heavenly Father told us of Your plan to make us more like Him. We were elated when we learned of this plan (see Job 38:7). We were anxious for new experiences. In order that these things happen, was necessary that we leave the presence of the Father and might receive a mortal body. We needed another place, where we prepare ourselves to become like Him in our new home was called Earth.

Why do we think we are delighted to know the plan of salvation?

Liberty of Chose

16:46 Posted by: Mormon Missionary 0 comments

The Freewill is an eternal principle

If someone you ask him: "Why have freewill is important?" What you say?

"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou mayest choose for thyself, for it is given unto thee; but, remember that I forbid it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die".(Moses 3:17).

God said through your prophets, that we are free to chose the good or bad. We can chose the liberty and eternal life, following Jesus Christ. We're free also to choose captivity and death, following Satan (see 2 Nephi 2:27).

The right of choose the good or the bad and act for ourselves is called freewill.

Jesus Christ, Our Chosen Leader and Savior

06:49 Posted by: Mormon Missionary 0 comments

It was we'd necessary for a Savior and a Leader

Why we needed to get out of our Heavenly Father? Why do we need a Savior?

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (see Job 38:7).

We understand that we had to leave the heavenly home for a while. We wouldn't living in presence our Heavenly Father. While we were away from Him. All of us would commit sins and some would be missed. The Heavenly Father knew and loved all of us and knew we needed help, so devised a way of helping us.
